Roman Trattnig, Deputy Head of Light and Optical Technologies at Joanneum Research – MATERIALS, holds a Diploma (2009) and Doctorate (2013) in technical physics from Graz University of Technology. Beginning his career in extramural research on OLEDs and organic solar cells at NTC Weiz, he moved to industry in 2013, leading technical optics projects at Wild GmbH and later optical development at XAL GmbH. Since 2018, he leads photovoltaics research at Joanneum Research and now oversees pilot cases in free-form micro-optics.

This presentation will explain the potential of micro-optics in automotive from enhanced lighting systems and advanced sensor systems to interior enhancements.
